People enter therapy for a variety of reasons; a crisis, a loss , a sense of disappointment about themselves or their lives. There are as many reasons as there are individuals but what unites them all is a need for relief from their pain. I believe that every individual has the ability to work through and overcome the obstacles that have kept them in destructive patterns in their lives. I have had over 25 years of experience working with people in recovery, their family members, and individuals struggling with depression and anxiety and individuals whose relationships don't ever seem to work out.
I work largely in an Interpersonal style and believe healing takes place in the context of a relationship. When appropriate I will use Cognitive Behavioral strategies and EMDR. Also, during this period of COVID-19 I am doing Teletherapy.
