My name is Dwaine, and I welcome you to my profile with empathy, openness, and real talk. My mission is to provide a safe and welcoming environment as you begin this journey towards your goal. As a therapist, I want to help my clients recognize their capacity for self-sufficiency and heal the spirit that carries their overall well-being. I enjoy assisting people to heal and trusting their vulnerability. Healing is difficult when you don't know where to begin, especially when your wounds are deep. Finding the right therapist for BIPOC and other marginalized individuals can be challenging to navigate. You've found your therapist!
I specialize in working with adults struggling with depression, co-occurring disorders, anxiety, families, sports trauma, LBGTQ+, men of color, and youth and adolescents with complex needs, including behavioral, emotional, and relational. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy interventions to help facilitate healing.
My approach is nontraditional, combining various approaches while being genuine at every level. These include a strength-based approach, providing real talk, honesty, and tough love, and exploring different evidence-based practices to achieve your best results. My job is to meet you where you are, no matter what stage you are in your healing journey.
