Hi, my name is Dulce Alvarado and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I work with children and adolescents using different approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I have experience working with children and adolescents experiencing challenges associated with trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and stress. I work with children and youth involved in the child welfare system and have experienced trauma related to abuse, neglect, and attachment disruptions.
I provide support to my clients by helping them develop the skills to navigate through their challenges, build resilience, and process their trauma. I like to create a space that is safe and free of judgment, where my clients feel comfortable about expressing themselves, and have a space where they feel heard and understood.
Growing up, I always wanted to understand how people's experiences had an impact on their lives, and that curiosity and the drive to help others led me on the path of becoming a therapist. Now, I enjoy helping those that I work with and seeing the positive changes along the way.
