Using my experience as a UCLA family medicine psychologist and a published author/creative writing instructor, I've helped countless people navigate relationships, jobs, cope with illness, or launch their writing careers. I am uniquely equipped to help women, writers, and the chronically ill client. As a graduate of Howard University, I was trained to treat culturally diverse clients. Using a combination of CBT and Psychodynamic therapies, I treat adolescents, adults, and couples.
I use Best Practices such as CBT and Mindfulness for depression and anxiety, and for a deeper dive into relationships or developing creative potential, or coping with illness, I also employ Psychodynamic therapy. I have decades of experience and much success in helping clients to build resilience in all areas of their lives.
My writing credits: MERMAID: A Memoir, W.W. Norton, 2014, O (Oprah) Magazine's Best Memoirs of the Year, 2008 Washington Writing Prize. Screenplay finalist in SF Indie Fest.
