I am a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with children, families, and adults in schools and in private practice. My work in recent years is primarily with young adults and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, self-criticism/shame, parenting, and trauma. My clients are seeking ways to manage their own emotional dysregulation/stress response, foster a healthy sense of self, grow relational skills to feel more socially connected with others (children, loved ones, friends, etc.), and/or process past trauma(s) that are interfering with present life.
Cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, & humanistic approaches were anchors of my doctoral training. My post-doctoral studies are focused on science-based orientations including interpersonal neurobiology, attachment science, neuroscience with respect to trauma and the body, & brain/body approaches (mindfulness/meditation, breathwork, somatic experiencing).
Relationships will rupture. Traumas will happen. Once useful coping strategies may no longer be adaptive, or even healthy, with new demands of life. The good news is that growth, repair & healing are possible throughout our lifespan as we are resilient beings. Trust, motivation, curiosity, practice, and compassion will be cornerstones in our work together.
