I specialize in treating anxiety, mood disorders, and trauma. I believe that mental health is part of overall wellness. When we are struggling, the most important areas of our lives are impacted. Relationships, work performance, creativity, focus, energy, sleep, appetite, drive and motivation are all impacted. When things don't change, we can begin to lose hope. Therapy is for the person who realizes they need help and are taking responsibility and committing to making the changes they need to make in order to live a happier more fulfilling life.
I have been in private practice for 10 years. Before that I worked with nonprofit organizations providing counseling for a wide range of mental health issues. I know that it can be hard to ask for help. That anxiety about talking to a stranger is strong. It tends to result in putting things off. This leads to disappointment, especially in ourselves.
