I believe that every person’s life could be a novel. Everyone is born with a set of unique experiences, gifting and personality. Therapy should utilize and capitalize on these unique qualities of each individual. Everyone experiences their own unique set of challenges and triumphs in life. However, sometimes circumstances are more than someone can deal with alone. Friends certainly do help, but certain things should be handled with a caring professional who will work to understand each person’s situation. A good therapist will help to uncover, provide feedback, and talk with each individual about solutions to life’s challenges.
I have worked in a variety of clinical settings such as inpatient, PHP, IOP a residential treatment center, and private practice. I view people as individuals. Currently I provide therapy to adults who wish to have individual counseling. I am an active directive therapist meaning that I believe in giving feedback, direction and homework assignments.
I am goal oriented. I want my client’s to have a sense or at least be willing to create a sense of what they would like to accomplish in counseling. This can be simple or more complex. The atmosphere that I create is warm and inviting.
