I specialize in using EMDR and other proven methods to assist people in their struggle to be free from trauma, drug and alcohol abuse and other related behavioral health and relational issues. Our goals become what the client needs and my experiences in the field with trauma and self harm helps clients reach their goals. Whether the goal is to be be happy, healthy and drug free, or to stop reoccurring negative thoughts we work together.
In the past I was a trauma specialist working to ease the memories involved in being a victim as well as helping to keep people sober and functioning. People come for trauma and continue therapy for sobriety, goal setting, relationship and family issues At times abstinence is appropriate or harm reduction is used. Being client centered is the goal.
Therapy can take place using a multitude of methods including telehealth and video methods. A thoughtful query will take place to allow us to prioritize treatment plans and goals. Often times I question, I listen, you talk. I may redirect but that is a necessary part of making progress together.
