I know first hand just how incredibly difficult it may be not only to first acknowledge the need for change, but to take the steps necessary in seeking help. I am a strong believer in that our thoughts, feelings, and actions are intertwined and thereby how we think affects how we feel which in turn impacts how we act. My approach to counseling is to first take time to build a therapeutic alliance by learning your unique story, build on your strengths, identify weaknesses, and challenge you to meet your goals.
While I am a solution focused therapist, I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Multicultural Therapy, Culturally Sensitive Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Marriage and Family Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and play therapy.
