Healing is a lifelong journey, and I commend you for seeking support during the process. I believe that you are the expert of your life. I recognize the need for client-specific approaches to healing trauma, and I understand that trauma recovery involves regulating our nervous systems, reconnecting with our bodies, creating safety, and accessing the present moment. I am honored to work with those impacted by trauma, depression, and anxiety. I embrace the neurodiversity paradigm, and I have a special interest in working with clients who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and/or LGBTQIA+.
I believe that trauma can occur on multiple levels including individual, familial, community, cultural, and systemic. I understand that traumatic experiences can impact the way our bodies process information. I believe that trauma becomes stuck in the body, and my therapeutic approach combines somatic practices with cognitive processing.
My approach to treatment is trauma-informed, client-centered, and heavily influenced by Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, Feminist Theory, Somatic Theory, Intersectionality, and Anti-Oppressive frameworks. I am honored to be on this leg of your journey.
