Transitioning from the military mindset to the civilian way of life does not have to be difficult! Schedule an appointment with a combat Veteran who can help! Don earned his BS in Education from Bowling Green State University and his MA in Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University. He specializes in working with military Veterans and first responders. As a Veteran himself, he is uniquely qualified to help this population through cognitive behavioral approaches and motivational interviewing.
Don worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the Department of Veterans Affairs for 8 years before starting his own practice in March of 2020. In addition to mental health counseling, we will take a holistic approach to address individual needs of the client and assist with connecting Veterans to VA benefits where necessary.
Don understands the unique needs, views, and communication styles of the Veteran population. He works hard to remove the stigma of mental health counseling through strength based approaches, humor, and work therapy. Don also serves as a VA Community Care counselor, an option that may help Veterans get the care they need at no cost to them.
