Hello, everyone. My name is Deedee Shaw, and I love helping people develop and explore the best version of themselves. I have worked in the field of Developmental Disabilities and gained a great appreciation for people who overcame things life throws at them. I also have experience working with youth sex offenders in a long-term residential treatment program and people who utilize Developmental Disability Services with the State of Nebraska. I have a passion for serving populations who are oppressed and discriminated against.
I am fluent (not an interpreter) in American Sign Language, so I can communicate with people who use their hands. I know the ID/DD system well and could be a great resource for parents of children with special needs.
Our communities and cultures are forever changing and sometimes it's hard to cope with everyday life stressors. I want every person reading this to know that going to see a counselor is as easy as going to the doctor when you are sick.
