It's hard to ask for help, and talking can only get us so far. Our bodies carry memories, feelings, and experiences that don't always make sense or that we are unable to express through words. Stress and overwhelm is literally stored in the body in the form of pain, tension, numbness, and dissociation. By giving our body a voice we can reshape our nervous system through self awareness and skill building for greater ease in connection with ourselves and others.
Our biology creates "symptoms" and instinctively knows how to bring us back to balance which in many cases may not be rational, linear, insight focused, or even verbal. Somatic counseling, is a "bottom up" approach to bring attention and awareness to engage and discover your integrity and wholeness.
I offer an individually tailored approach that integrates techniques consistent with Somatic Psychotherapy including: Dance/Movement Therapy, Polyvagal Informed Therapy, AEDP, Internal Family Systems and Psychedelic Assisted Therapy.
