I can help you navigate the uncharted territory utilizing CBT, DBT, ACT, IFT, exposure therapy, and nature therapy.
I believe that your story, your pain, your difficulties and your joys all contribute to your unique self. We live in a world that would otherwise wish us to be more or less the same in order for the world to remain comfortable. What I believe my mission is, is to help you be more comfortable with YOU, your feelings, and with your story so that you may feel ALIVE. And that when you come alive, the world benefits from that gift. My work primarily focuses on the needs specific to women (though not limited), transitional phases of life, relationship issues, young adults and teenagers. We will laugh as much as we may cry. That is living.

I am certified in a number of evidenced based therapy models including ART, DBT, TF-CBT, PCIT, CPP and MBSR.
All humans have emotional health needs and we are often not taught the tools to help support ourselves in meeting our needs. These needs, if not supported, end up effecting relationships, health, or employment and end up looking like depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress, and more. I encourage you to email me to set up a free consultation if you are feeling stuck, need help processing a life change or past experience, or are seeking tools to help support your emotional wellbeing. I see you as a whole person and am looking forward to supporting you in learning how to support yourself!

I work with young people and their families through individual therapy, DBT group therapy and individual skills training, family therapy and parent coaching.
Life can be hard, and no one knows this better than adolescents, young adults, and the families who love and support them. Intense emotions; urges to engage in impulsive behaviors; navigating social situations and the stress of school; difficulty getting along with parents; the politics of Snapchat, etc! The instability of this time of life offers both challenge and opportunity. Therapy can support young people to harness the chaotic yet formative nature of this time as a catalyst for lasting wellness and growth: Explore one's identity; develop effective coping strategies, practice interpersonal relationship, heal trauma, and more.

Utilizing a person-centered, strength-based approach paired with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness, we will unfold and untangle these intertwined experiences on the path towards understanding and empowerment.
Now Accepting Kaiser and Cigna Insurance! Immediate availability for appointments! As a therapist my goal is to create a safe and open space to allow you to express your authentic self. My goal is not to lead but to walk alongside you as we navigate through life’s events and experiences, both past and present. We go through life filled with emotion and sometimes feel like there is no space to explore or express it, and yet, simultaneously feel ruled by these emotions without understanding why.

In addition to animal-assisted therapy, I incorporate other modalities into practice such as art therapy, CBT, DBT, NMT, solution focused and others.
Struggling with BIG emotions?! Are you feeling alone or misunderstood in your journey? I am here to help! I have a passion for working with children, teens, and adults through various diagnoses such as anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma related disorders, impulse control, emotional regulation, and other behavioral concerns. I have learned from my experience in working with children (8 yr old+), adolescences, and their families that there is not one singular way that will work for everyone, which leads me to tailor my approach to meet each individual where they are at in that moment.

I utilize EMDR, ACT, & DBT.
Life often throws us things that we don't expect, or never think we will have to deal with. Sometimes, it's more of a life transition that leaves us feeling alone or not knowing where to turn next. I have a passion for joining side by side with my clients, guiding them in their journey to heal from their traumas and have improved, more fulfilling relationships. I especially enjoy working with women, 20s & 30s, and couples as I have a multitude of experience with the challenges these groups face. I like to create a warm, personable environment so I can help you find the happiness and peace you deserve.

I take my approach from different modalities including, but not limited to, DBT, TF-CBT, Person-Centered, Narrative, Systems-based, and Attachment Theory.
Finding the right fit for your mental health journey can be daunting. Therapy is vulnerable and powerful, and finding a person to support you in this is important. I firmly believe being a therapist is not about doing something for the client, but being someone for the client. I am here to be that someone for my clients. There is a misconception in our world that asking for help is weakness, when in fact it’s strength. I’ll be here for you, with no judgement.

While I utilize a variety of counseling techniques depending upon the current situation, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, these are not what my clients are seeking.
My mission, as a professional counselor is simple: Create a safe and respectful space where my clients can honestly explore, and learn from their personal stories. It is a true honor and privilege to facilitate these personal moments of discovery, that are often raw, difficult and challenging.

My approach to therapy is simple; provide an environment that is safe for YOU to begin exploring problems in your life that you feel influence your ability to find genuine happiness on a day-to-day basis. Our journey focuses on not assuming that the answers are going to be readily available, but appreciating the questions that surface during every session so that in time you can live your way into finding your genuine self. It is through this process that I believe authentic happiness is found!

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
