As a therapist, I specialize in a holistic approach that combines Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT) with deep exploration of trauma, intergenerational trauma, and attachment issues.
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) who enjoys working with couples, children, adolescents, individuals, and families. My therapeutic approach is grounded in a relational and systemic model. I strive to create a comfortable environment where clients can address their emotions and explore deeper topics. I emphasize the importance of self-regulation and containment, and I employ an interactive approach that helps clients process emotions, develop regulation skills, and delve into deeper emotional issues and attachment.

From a culturally-informed, relational framework, I provide such therapies as CBT, CBT-Insomnia, CPT for PTSD, EMDR, and DBT.
Are you an "overthinker" or overachiever wanting to work through harsh attitudes you hold about yourself? Are you hoping to resolve pain from the past? Perhaps you need relief from intense worry, anxiety, PTSD/complex trauma, overwhelming emotions, depression, insomnia, or nightmares. Or you might be seeking to grow as a person and needing to talk through the complexities of your most important relationships with someone trained to ask just the right questions. If these are the kinds of issues you’re grappling with now, therapy is a wonderful place to start, and one of the most meaningful investments you can make in yourself.

I primarily use Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) along with elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT) and Gottman in my work with clients.
Are you feeling overwhelmed with all that you have to do? Are you struggling to maintain your relationships? Does a balanced life seem like a far fetched dream? As someone who has had to balance multiple cultures, I know what it can feel like to straddle more than one. I want to help you find your balance between the "two worlds" of what is important to you and your family without taking away from who you are. I will work with you to tap into your inner voice, channel your strengths and become the most fulfilling version of yourself. I also provide Immigration evaluations for VAWA, Extreme Hardship, Asylum and U Visa.

I also use elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and ACT.
Perhaps you are having difficulties in your primary relationships, perhaps there are stressors at work, perhaps you face a great choice and several obstacles are hindering your clarity and peace. I have been honored to witness individuals and couples overcome many barriers that initially seemed insurmountable. Based on the lived experience of those I work with I believe that a full, happy, and peaceful life is within reach for everyone who seeks it.

I draw from interventions based in CBT, DBT, MBCT, strength-based and person-centered therapies.
Sometimes life doesn’t go the way we plan, and it's difficult to know how to navigate through the challenges we confront. Finding a therapist can be intimidating, and it takes courage to take the first step--so congratulations! Building rapport and trust are essential toward developing a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Therapy should never be a “one size fits all” approach, and I hope to help you feel validated and supported by acknowledging your own unique life journey. I work hard at creating an emotionally safe environment where you can feel free from biases and judgment.

My work comes from a trauma-informed and strengths-base lens and utilizes a combination of CBT, DBT and humanistic approaches to therapy.
Hello! We all need to talk to someone, so whether it's me, another therapist, a trusted family member or a friend, I am thankful you want to talk and take care of yourself. I am an easy-going and genuinely curious therapist. My goal is to create a non-judgmental space for clients to explore their issues, gain awareness of any self-limiting patterns, learn helpful skills, and hopefully laugh a little. I believe that with support and guidance, the challenges and transitions we face can become opportunities for personal growth and a chance to re-frame our experiences in a positive way.

I primarily provide psycho-education in CBT, DBT, ACT, ERP to build a strong therapeutic foundation to create radical positive changes.
As individuals age, many thoughts and behaviors become default, racing on autopilot down the wrong track. When situations or circumstances occur that significantly impact daily functioning, it can make one feel they are no longer in control. Psychotherapy allots individuals an opportunity to identify triggers, faulty cognitions, and process difficult (current or past) experiences, in order to regulate their emotions successfully. By learning and choosing healthy coping skills, one can implement mindfulness to achieve effective management over their cognitions, emotions, and behaviors- empowering them to take back their life.

Therapy is a place where you can show up as you are, where you won’t be judged or shamed. It’s a place where you can work on yourself, focus on you and be met with positive regard and acceptance. No matter whether you are seeking therapy for trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, Bipolar Personality Disorder, etc., whether it's for emotional health reasons, or if you just need someone who is objective/neutral to be there while you are going through a tough time in your life, just know that you are welcomed here and this is a safe space for you.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
