"The struggle that you are in today, is developing the strength that you need for tomorrow." Let's face it, life is far from easy, so if you are someone who is struggling with day-to-day living and finding it difficult to overcome the challenges and curveballs that life seems to throw at you, then let's work together to regain the strength that you already have within you. I am a therapist who specializes in working with individuals between the ages of 12-30 that struggle with anxiety, depression, anger management, unresolved past trauma, stress, grief/loss, relationship issues and lack of social and communication skills.

A scientist who specializes in trauma, depression, mood and anxiety.
A portion of Jeremiah 8:22 says, "Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people...". I am not a physician but I considers myself a scientist of the soul. Most often on our journey home, we have experience moral, soul, financial, spiritual, physical, biological, psychological, emotional and mental injuries to name a few. But, how do we navigate to find Shalom, aka "peace" to live the life we were created for? We often feels trap in life's puzzle. Take a moment and let's talk!

I generally see people experiencing anxiety, depression, Trauma/PTSD, family of origin issues, relationship problems, grief, and general "stuckness".
With 15 years of experience, and an eclectic blend of training and knowledge (including EMDR, yoga therapy, mindfulness, IFS, and more), I tailor my sessions to each individual. I feel honored to be witness to the pains, joys, and experiences of others. It's hard to sum up the deep work that my clients and I do, but overall, I like to help people increase self-compassion, gain deeper mind-body awareness, and connect to their own insight and growth. My experience is that this helps them to experience healing from trauma, see themselves with more clarity and acceptance, and feel more in control of and at peace in their lives.

I work with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. I would describe myself as a transparent and relational therapist. Going through any phase of life can have its tough times. Life stress and transitions can influence anxiety, depression, relationships, and more. I believe having a safe space to talk through your thoughts and feelings can transform your mental health. However difficult these times may be, I believe it can take time and support to explore how each person can have a voice in how they process their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. I offer video sessions and in-person sessions.

Have you ever been to counseling and just felt awkward the whole time? Yeah, me too. I pride myself on making the process of counseling enjoyable, even when it's difficult, by building trust, being genuine, and being relatable as a human, not a clinician. I strive always to be intentional about how to approach each and every individual's unique situation. Whether you are wrestling with anxiety or depression, stress from big life changes, relationship troubles, or coming to grips with past traumas, I would be honored to work with you to navigate these challenges you may be facing.

I enjoy working with a wide array of individuals, including adolescents, young adults, college students, LGBTQ+ communities, parents, adults, and seniors coping with mood disorders, personality disorders, OCD, anxiety, and depression.
I use a mindfulness-based, client-centered, solution-focused approach to help clients reach their valued goals. As a trauma-informed DBT clinician, understanding clients holistically is imperative in prioritizing client needs and where to begin in the treatment process. Dialectical Behavior Therapy is great for clients who would like a more “hands-on” approach and are eager to start the process of developing skills to assist with difficulties often seen in life. I integrate components of ACT therapy, self-compassion, Motivational Interviewing, and CBT, depending on what would benefit the client most.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, addiction, or trauma, I provide a safe and supportive space to explore your experiences and work toward greater authenticity and fulfillment.
I specialize in working with individuals and couples from a holistic perspective, incorporating evidence-based modalities to support healing and growth. My practice is informed by the belief that healing occurs within the context of relationships. I approach therapy from a "person in the environment perspective." I help clients explore the dynamics within their families of origin and how these patterns continue to influence their current relationships and sense of self. We will also explore the importance of secure attachments in fostering emotional regulation and resilience.

I specialize in helping people recover from anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and attachment wounds.
Life often presents us with challenges that impact our emotional well-being. Sometimes, these challenges arise from our early experiences, shaping how we interact with ourselves and others. We may have learned to disconnect from our needs, emotions, or even from those around us. While these coping mechanisms may have helped us in the past, they can become limiting patterns that no longer align with our present desires and goals. Through therapy, we have the opportunity to update our inner templates and work through struggles, freeing us up to connect with our lives in the ways we want to.

Depression Therapists

What is the goal of therapy for depression?

Therapy for depression has several major goals. One is to relieve the mental pain of depression, which distorts feeling and thinking so that sufferers cannot see beyond their current state of mind or envision feeling better. Another is to give people the mental tools to recognize and correct the kinds of distorted thinking that turn a problem into a catastrophe and lead to despair. Therapy also teaches people how to process negative emotions in constructive ways, so they have more control over their own emotional reactivity. And it helps people regain the ability to see themselves positively, the motivation to do things, and the capacity for pleasure.

What happens in therapy for depression?

Perhaps most important, no matter the type of therapy, patients form an alliance with the therapist; that connection is therapeutic in itself, plus it becomes an instrument of change. Patients learn to identify and to challenge their own erroneous beliefs and thoughts that amplify the effects of negative experiences. They learn to identify situations in which they are especially vulnerable. And they learn new patterns of thinking and behaving. They may be given “homework” assignments in which they practice their developing skills. In addition, good therapists regularly monitor patients to assess whether and how much the condition is improving.

What therapy types help with depression?

Several types of short-term therapy have been found effective, each targeting one or more areas of dysfunction. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps clients challenge their negative thoughts and beliefs, learn new behavioral strategies, and curb reactivity to distressing situations. Behavioral activation (BA) is a form of therapy often used in conjunction with CBT; it focuses on engagement in rewarding activity as a pathway to changing negative feelings and disturbed mood. Another widely used approach is interpersonal therapy (IPT), which targets the social difficulties that both give rise to and get exacerbated by depression. Therapists may combine approaches as needed.

Can therapy for depression be done online?

Studies have found that online therapy can be highly effective for treating depression, although it may be more challenging to build a good therapist-patient alliance on screen than in person—at least at first. However, online therapy can offer considerable advantages. Accessibility and convenience are tops among them. Some people actually find it easier to talk about problems online than in person. While online therapy typically limits visibility of facial expression and body gestures that give important nonverbal cues to a patient’s state of mind, it can give therapists a glimpse into a patient’s world and life, providing information that can be highly useful in guiding therapy.

How effective is therapy for depression?

Many studies show that therapy is highly effective provided that patients complete the prescribed course of therapy, commonly 16 to 20 sessions. Over the long term, it is more effective than medication and the effects are more enduring. As a result, psychotherapy has the power not just to relieve current suffering but to prevent future episodes of the disorder. Therapy reverses the dysfunction in neural circuitry that disposes individuals to a negative view of themselves, the world, and their future and they acquire coping techniques, problem-solving skills, and understanding of their own vulnerabilities that are useful over the course of a lifetime.
