You are born with traits, tendencies and vulnerabilities that are influenced and shaped by your experience in the world. Sometimes those experiences can leave you feeling misunderstood, ashamed, or even alone. Through a collaborative therapy relationship, I believe we can begin to unpack the impact of our experiences, reflect on who we are, and recognize the strength we have to become the person we want to be. Self-reflection is hard, but it is often through this effort we find answers for which we have been searching.
Although I am new to counseling, I have nearly 50 years of life experience to draw upon as we journey together on the path to self-understanding. I know what it is like to work to maintain a marriage, parent kids in today’s society, and work a corporate job. Our work together will be led by you, the client. You will set the goals, and I will use attachment theory, strengths-based CBT, and mindfulness to provide support and encouragement as you begin to examine the areas of your experience that may be keeping you “stuck.”
