DBT Skills for Teens
DBT is a state-of-the-art, evidence-based treatment for adolescents who experience significant trouble managing intense emotions, problematic thoughts, and unsafe behaviors. DBT skills include mindfulness to practice non-judgmental, present-moment awareness, strategies to improve communication, reduce family conflict, manage emotions, and tolerate distressing situations. DBT skills groups are run like a small workshop or class and are a helpful addition to ongoing individual therapy.
