Adolescence is a fascinating and complex time of rapid growth and change. During this transition, life can sometimes be overwhelming and present new challenges. For over 17 years I have been a counselor in the mental health field working with young children and adolescents with a variety of issues. My person-centered approach to counseling integrates a variety of counseling modalities and techniques. Working in a collaborative partnership with parents, my goal is to empower youth and children to discover their inner strengths, build on personal successes and utilize healthy decision-making skills to navigate their life path.
Child-Centered Play Therapy (ages 3 - 10) provides an opportunity for children to process problems and challenging experiences, just as an adult uses talk therapy with their struggles. I value a supportive, non-judgmental and compassionate environment for my clients to feel safe and respected as they share their story through the counseling process.
