I have been working with families who are in crisis ( children with behavioral issues and teens who have trouble functioning). I have extensive experience with substance abuse (heroin, pills, and alcohol) issues, that have been affecting teens/parents. I can help parents and couples, dealing with relationship problems-many times tantruming children or depressed/anxious teens are a factor. Working with the entire family, or just the individual is my specialty. I have experience working with children who have trauma history, ADHD, anxiety or depression. I am able to assist parents in deciphering the IEP/504 options, if needed.
I performed psych.evaluations for 14 years in the local ER's, working with children and adults who suffered from substance abuse/ alcohol issues, depression, anxiety, or psychosis. I worked over 10 years as a child/teen counselor in alternative schools and for the state of MA. Therapist, 35 years.
My Masters is in school and community counseling (ADHD,autism spectrum, self abuse issues of cutting/eating disorders, social anxiety). My predoctorate (CAGS) is in family therapy- working with parents who have to care for their elderly relatives, psychotic family, depressed or anxious partners. I have been counseling couples also.
