I provide therapy for men and women around life transitions, grief, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, guilt and shame, recovering from physical or sexual abuse, trauma and PTSD, identity and self image, spiritual development and spiritual abuse. I personally and professionally understand the dynamics that accompany many of these life challenges. The art of counseling is in the sensitivity, presence, attunement and humility that a counselor demonstrates when building a relationship with a client.
My counseling orientation is an integrative approach. I combine psychodynamic with client-centered theories and when needed a trauma informed approach when working with people to support mind, body, and psychological needs. I believe counseling should include immediate skills and interventions while providing time to explore the core issues of the client
I offer clients a 55-60 minute therapeutic hour as opposed to the normal 45-50 minute session. I believe that clients need those extra minutes to process, debrief and just breathe as they do the work that brought them to therapy. I also offer a free 15 minute consultation by phone.
