I help people who want to transform their relationship with money. People who feel guilty they have so much, when others lack. Folks who struggle to believe that they really do have enough money, and feel compelled to continue building wealth. People who make good money but are in a spiral of spending and debt, even compulsively spending. People who feel panic when the market drops. People who feel conflicted about how their partner approaches money. People who avoid thinking or talking about money at all costs.

At Spring Forward Psychotherapy, LLC, my mission is to provide high-quality, compassionate care to adults and teenagers (14 and older) struggling with mental health issues or who need help processing daily life and routine stressors. I compound the benefits of movement, nature and thought processing by providing therapy as "walk and talks" in local parks (or via teletherapy). Therapy is a safe and confidential space to lay out your first draft of ideas without judgment to allow you to process and refine and edit thoughts before sharing with loved ones and your support network.

Maybe you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck. Perhaps you are going through a change and having trouble managing day-to-day life. Or maybe it's hard to put into words what you are feeling but know that something is getting in your way of living the life you want. Getting started in therapy is a big step! As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I believe in the power of empathy, authenticity, and connection in the work that we do together. I am passionate about helping Gen Z and Millennial clients navigate difficult experiences and emotions, as well as working to unburden themselves from what is holding them back.

Often, when we are either facing a present crisis or feeling stuck in the past, we consider therapy, which can be a transformative resource - helping us better deal with life's hurts while increasing our capacity to live more fully.

Welcome! Thanks for visiting my page. The idea of counseling can be scary no matter what our age and this is a huge step. Finding the right “fit” can be critical for your success in counseling. Let me tell you a bit about my practice to see if it helps in your search. Most people come to my practice to gain a sense of what patterns are keeping them stuck (even when past counseling as not worked). Together we face what has been avoided in order to achieve greater satisfaction and fulfillment in our lives. I use humor to normalize symptoms of stress and provide a warm comfortable environment to let go and take new supported risks.

I am a licensed psychologist and have practiced close to 20 years. I provide both virtual and in person services to adults (18+). I see clients with a wide range of concerns from: anxiety, depression, career issues/burn out, perfectionism, BIPOC and/or immigrant mental health, racial trauma, transitions, & those interested in mindfulness. My clients can expect a space where they can (or learn how to) show up fully & authentically themselves. I support their well-being by joining them in cultivating the courage needed to start this new chapter in their lives, while reconnecting to both themselves and others in a different way.

My name is Julie Campana and I am a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor. I have been working in the field since 2017, while also continuing my work in the public school system. My mental health background ranges from inpatient hospital work, grief and loss counseling, to children and family counseling. Recently, I have moved to working as a therapist fulltime as I realized the tremendous need for support with how prevalent mental illness and trauma are today. I've seen how both can truly impact the human life, from early childhood to old age and how vital it is to have a listening ear without fear of judgement.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
