In the counseling I provide, I try to meet my clients where they are at in their thoughts, feelings & lives’ circumstances. I believe that change is a difficult, but necessary part of the therapy process. I am a strong believer that building resilience is helpful as well. I work to help clients identify their emotions that can arise from experiencing anxiety, panic, trauma, abuse, shame and other life challenges; which over time, can also negatively impact a person’s emotions, mental health, & self-talk.
I take special care to work on helping clients build their awareness of self & others. This is done through use of various techniques including but not limited to: strengths-based perspectives, mindfulness strategies, CBT, ACT, & the use of additional methods like psychodynamic approaches, shame resiliency, AF-EMDR based strategies, &/or inner-child work.
