I am an empathic and experienced Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapist. I also teach at Georgetown Hospital and the George Washington University, as well as serve on the OCD Mid-Atlantic Affiliate Board. My treatment aims are as follows: 1) provide direct symptom relief, 2) engage clients in treatment in a way that interests them, 3) appeal to strengths, 4) encourage overall treatment compliance, and 5) explain the clinical process in easy to understand language. Empowerment occurs with the recognition that mental health symptoms have predictable patterns. Symptoms are relieved through changing these patterns. Interactive readings and assignments are encouraged.

I've served patients in the Washington, D.C. area for over four decades, helping men, women and couples resolve conflicts arising from the many changes and transitions they experience -- especially during the "middle years" of adulthood, My holistic perspective integrates psychoanalytic understanding of developmental origins of conflicts with the social, cultural, gender and career experiences that contribute to emotional troubles; feelings of limitations about change; your values. All can impede capacity for loving relationships and expressing hidden dimensions of your personalities; and for achieving success and meaning in life.

I am currently completing my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University. My clinical focus includes young adults and couples, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and providing guidance during major life transitions, especially marriage and the perinatal/birth phase. I specialize in working with overachievers and perfectionists, assisting them in managing self-imposed pressures and achieving a healthier balance.
