Recent training in REBT, Biofeedback, and the Gottman Method for couples counseling enriches my approach.
Thank you for embarking on this courageous journey towards self-improvement. Life's path is often strewn with challenges, yet each hurdle presents an opportunity for growth and resilience. I firmly believe in the inherent capacity of every individual to learn, evolve, and heal, irrespective of the adversities they face. Together, let's awaken the dormant potential within.

I use my laser-sharp emotional precision, my practical depth which works from the bottom while instilling tools from the top, my advanced skills in both Relational Life Therapy, the Gottman Method and group psychotherapy to mature human beings and their relationships.
I am your last stop. If life has disappointed you. If you are depleted. If you are lost. If your relationship is hopelessly leaving you unsatisfied. If your partner is complaining about your internal emotional desert. If you are one step from calling it quits or calling the lawyer. If you are out of ideas at how to make life and relationship work. If therapy has not worked for you in the past ... ... get ready. Your story can take a different turn. Give me a call and let's get started giving you the life - and the relationship - you desire and you deserve. I can help you have more and better.

Waitlist for new clients
This training (person-centered, Gottman Method, CBT, ACT, even Play Therapy) allows me to understand a broad experience of humanity and adapt to client needs, from being a patient listener, "tough-love" challenger, or co-conspirator, figuring it out together.
Thanks for visiting! We will be the right fit if you’re striving toward a better version of yourself. You might notice it's easier to think than feel–maybe even overthink–about how to live, be, and relate to others well. You want more honesty throughout your relationships (and with yourself), even when it's uncomfortable. You thrive with exploring, challenging questions, and occasional redirection toward larger goals. We will be reflecting on relationships, families of origin, career, and general stress of life that leads to feelings of discomfort.

I practice a relational form of psychodynamic/humanistic therapy that views the therapeutic relationship as central to the therapeutic process. However. I also incorporate therapeutic tools from difrrent pychotherapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, and psychoanalysis . I have had great success working with people who have had difficulty connecting to therapists in the past and am noted for working with high-conflict couples. I enjoy working with couples utilizing. among other modalities, the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, which aren't necessarily exclusive to each other

I am a certified RET therapist and a certified Gottman Method educator.
Individuals seek treatment because they are in pain. Facing one's own weaknesses is difficult and opening up even more so-particularly for people whose cultural background and/or family upbringing discourges transparency /self-disclosure. My priority is to create a safe environment where my clients may confront, accept and change aspects of their lives they consider shameful and/or self-destructive. I have been invited as a guest speaker by a number of organizations and regularly offer seminars and work shops on such themes as self-esteem,communication skills, stress management and the challenges of being married/single and dating

Primarily, I implement Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy in working with families, the Gottman Method with couples and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing with individuals.
I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. When thinking about the stages of change, I prefer to meet clients where they are; and am willing to work at a pace they feel comfortable with at the start of treatment. Individuals come to treatment with a myriad of goals and needs. Specific issues may be difficult to pinpoint. However, one of my goals in the overall process is to see clients who are open to changing their current dynamic or patterns, with the hope of a more favorable outcome.

With couples, I use the skills-based Gottman Method of Couples Therapy.
Therapy can be a helpful way to gain insights, explore, and challenge yourself in a space that is free of judgment. I aim to provide a space where you can feel connected and supported, and where you can develop skills that will help you navigate challenges, thrive, and create meaningful change. I value learning about each client’s background and lived experience, and use a warm, active, and collaborative approach in therapy. If you are seeking couples therapy, our sessions can help you build concrete skills to improve communication, while also having the space to process the past and work towards the future.

Please note that all sessions are via tele-medicine. I believe that clients seeking counseling services desire tools for living a better life, and I strive to provide those tools. I do not push change on clients, but rather helps them articulate how they want their lives to be, and then collaboratively set out to put the foundation in place to create that life. I feel that clients gain the most from the counseling experience when they feel supported, encouraged, and understood by their therapist. This process works best in a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space, which I provide.

Gottman Method Therapists

How does the Gottman method work?

One of the core doctrines of the Gottman method is that negative emotions hurt relationships about five times more than positive emotions help them. Thus, couples require five times more positive interactions than negative interactions with each other. The therapist will guide clients on how to improve communication and understanding of each other to manage conflict and have their emotional needs met. The therapist will also advise couples on how to repair relations with each other when conflict arises, and therefore avoid lasting damage.

Is the Gottman method evidence-based?

Yes, this method is an evidence-based approach to couples therapy. The method is based on more than 40 years of research by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, the psychologists who developed the method. The Gottmans analyzed decades of data to draw conclusions about what types of interactions are likely to lead to specific results, and which interventions are most likely to lead to success. Studies have found that this approach leads to improvements in relationship satisfaction, intimacy, communication skills, and a lower rate of divorce.

How long does the Gottman method take?

The duration of treatment depends on the specific challenges clients face. Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes long, and an average course of treatment is around 10 sessions. In some cases, such as for couples dealing with a critical problem, the therapist will suggest an intensive course of treatment, with daily sessions over the first two to four days. Treatment is complete when the couple is satisfied and has met the goals they’ve set, and when the therapist believes they have the skills to continue on their own.

Is the Gottman method effective?

Through the Gottman method, couples can achieve changes that are real and sustainable. This treatment has been used for more than 40 years; the method is supported by empirical research, including randomized controlled trials that have demonstrated effectiveness in improving relationship outcomes for couples. Like any talk therapy, success or failure depends in large part on how committed the clients are to making positive changes and working toward results.
