I am a mental health and school counselor passionate about supporting the growth of children and young adults. I am experienced with both school-age children, young adults, and adults. I have also spent a lifetime in the world of professional dance and the creative arts. My experience in dance and the body highly influences my therapeutic lens. I view integration of body and mind through multi-sensory modalities as integral to client growth. I take an integrative approach to my work; in one session we may talk, play, draw, explore the sand tray, or move. Some moments may be more directive and some may be client-led.

Do people ask how you are doing and the answer is always “fine” or “ok”? Or maybe you avoid letting yourself feel uncomfortable emotions? Possibly putting off facing them until you feel more ready, but that day never comes? Depression, anxiety, and trauma can do that to us. They can change our trajectory in life, veer us off course of who we were meant to be. Shadows from the past can loom over us forever. If this is your experience, my sincerest hope is one day you will feel ready to no longer allow your past to place limits on the future.

I specialize in Eating Disorders, body image and AD/HD, and work often with LGBTQIA+, gender identity, OCD, relational trauma, interpersonal violence/domestic violence survivors.
As a therapist, I pride myself on being approachable, genuinely engaged. I strive to offer a nurturing space filled with acceptance, collaboration, and humor that is safe for all gender, sexual and cultural identities. My practice is oriented in Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT), which believes that individuals grow through connectedness. RCT is an Intersectional Feminist approach that allows me to bring social justice and multiculturalism in all forms into my work with clients. I also work within the Health and Every Size (HAES) and body neutrality models.

MY PRACTICE IS FULL AT THE MOMENT - NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS. I believe that in order to make changes in our lives we need to start by looking at our relationship to ourselves, to the world and to people in it. Some of our patterns of relating were set in motion long before we had any awareness of or language for our emotions. In my practice I have found that a compassionate, respectful and mutually trusting approach can lead to meaningful change and ultimately a more authentic and fulfilling life.

I also treat relationship issues, grief, and life transitions.
My goal is to create a safe and accepting environment that allows us to better explore the issues you are facing. I believe that one of the most important elements of counseling is the therapeutic relationship. I value a trusting, open, and interactive relationship that allows us to improve insight into your struggles and issues, and develop a plan for recovery and healing.

No matter your past or present, your haves or have nots, life can be difficult. I believe that people want and need to be understood – to feel validated and acknowledged in the midst of their troubles. Without these moments of understanding, life can feel mundane, lonely, or deeply confusing. At the most troubling times when stress, depression, or relationships overwhelm, change can seem impossible. Yet change is made possible through a trusting therapeutic relationship and a careful understanding of oneself and others.

I use an active, serious and friendly approach to help you figure out where you are right now and how to move forward. Talking with a professional psychologist can organize your thinking and transform your outlook. You can overcome issues such as anxiety, fearfulness, low mood, career concerns, dating troubles, family problems and more when you move past emotional roadblocks. Problem-solve for 1-2 sessions or take a deeper look at your underlying thoughts and habits. When you understand yourself more fully you can take action to make your life better.
