To help clients successfully manage the difficult challenges of anxiety and depression, I first develop therapeutic relationships characterized by empathy, unconditional emotional support, and authenticity. It is these fundamental aspects of the therapeutic alliance, more than specific interventions, that account for successful psychotherapy. Lastly, I am a Licensed and Board-Certified Clinical Psychologist, a Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Psychology, and a certified school psychologist. I was educated at Georgia State University (BS), Harvard University (Ed.M.), and the Derner Institute at Adelphi University (Ph.D.).
In addition, as mindfulness has become a central feature in every therapeutic approach, I often incorporate the fundamental skills of mindfulness practice. That is, in the context of emotion-focused psychotherapy, I help clients develop the skills of flexible attention, perspective-taking, and, most importantly, self-acceptance.
Finally, I am available for therapeutic sessions during the day, late afternoons, and early evenings both in my office in downtown Stamford, CT. or virtually, via Zoom or Google Meets.
