Oliver suggests that liberation is always-already present. How do we contact this natural brilliance? How do we walk that liminal space between will and surrender, acceptance and change? Being incarnated in a human body means facing ordeals but how much we suffer becomes a choice. We refine our ability to choose through deep engagement with various inner practices and orientations.
These derive from a multitude of perspectives ranging from the world's great wisdom traditions to the latest evidenced-based practices, from the mytho-poetic to the scientific. I include elements from existential philosophy, mysticism, integral theory, jungian psychology, psychoanalytic theory, personality typology and ancestor work.
I find these practices relevant to all mental health challenges and interpersonal dynamics ranging from self-identity to parenting. Take the hero's journey. My hope for our work is well-captured by this Proverb: "When death finds you, may it find you alive!" Let's get to work!
