My name is David Diaz and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who are experiencing difficulties in life due to anxiety, depression, substance/alcohol use, and the impact of trauma. I use CBT, ACT, psychodynamic, Solution-Focused Therapy, and TF-CBT to help my clients overcome the many challenges that may be frustrating their lives. My approach to therapy includes identifying where my clients want to be in life and what strengths and resources they already possess.
I use CBT, ACT, and/or psychoanalysis to add to or modify their skill set in order to increase their chances of overcoming the challenges that are keeping them stuck. Where trauma is concerned, I have found that TF-CBT is a helpful tool to get clients back on the right track.
My approach to goal setting involves working closely with my clients to identify what they want to get out of therapy. How will their lives be different when therapy is done? Having a clear destination at the onset of therapy will help to keep track of our progress throughout the process.
