I am a therapist experienced in anxiety, depression trauma and grief. I have over 12 years of experience working with diverse multicultural clients. Before I became a therapist, I was in therapy for many years. It helped me with understanding the “why” of my issues and “what” I needed to do to change my behavior. I learned therapy is a collaborative experience. My therapist provided the tools for me to understand my issues and I had to be committed to change to achieve a successful outcome. It is this therapeutic experience that I bring as a therapist.
My focus is on trauma, helping individuals to understand it, process it and live fuller, richer lives with a better understanding of why they do the things they do and how to change.
As an Afro-Latino male, I fully understand the difficulties men, in general, but particularly men of color face and the stigma around going to therapy. It is this sensitivity, I believe, that allows me to authentically engage with historically marginalized people and normalize reaching out for help.
