I provide a warm, inclusive, collaborative, and supportive environment. I work with clients to address a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use struggles, difficulties in relationships, loss, and balancing work-life demands, among other issues. Integrating multiple models of care based on a patient's need, I utilize aspects of behavioral approaches (CBT, DBT, behavioral medicine), mindfulness-based interventions, humanistic approaches, relational and developmental theory, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic-informed care. [ Weekend hours sometimes available ]
I believe therapy often involves a combination of insight and action. Insight helps us understand how we got to this moment; why we relate to ourselves, others, and the world in the ways we do; and how we can take this understanding and elicit meaning from it. Sometimes insight can be therapeutic on its own. However, often action is needed.
For example: learning mindfulness skills, learning tools for better sleep, challenging our thoughts to open our perspective, learning to cope with difficult emotions, learning assertiveness skills, or finding ways to achieve more ownership of our lives and our choices. We will work together to find what works for you. I look forward to talking with you.
