I believe that creative expression has the ability to reach the deepest part of us, where words may not exist. It can be difficult for clients to talk about the issues that bother them, but I find that making art can open up those conversations easily. I embrace having empathy and understanding for my client's stories in order to accentuate their own strengths and values.
My approach to therapy emphasizes creatively combining art-making with other evidence-based approaches such as CBT, client-centered therapy, mindfulness, and positive psychology. My goal is to provide clients with a safe and supportive space to help each individual reach their goals.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, working around my home and garden, and spending time with my two children, and our two 'floofy' doodles.
