My ideal client would be a client who is motivated for change and is ready to set treatment goals. This client could have a broad range of issues, needs, and goals but what is most important is that they are willing to do the work needed to better themselves.
I use a combination of CBT and DBT skills to help clients explore their emotions and find different coping skills that work best for them.
Admitting you need to come to counseling can be difficult and intimidating, so I try to make the atmosphere as welcoming as possible for the client. I believe that the client therapist relationship should be equal and balanced. My goal is help individuals meet their needs and goals.
