I work with couples and adults from diverse backgrounds. My therapeutic approach is informed by contemporary psychoanalytic theories, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mind-body-Spirit approaches. I pay special attention to what is happening in the present moment of the sessions, while honoring the impact of life circumstance and familial history.
Prior to my current practice, I've worked in community mental health, residential treatment, inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, wilderness therapy and public education. In addition to a Master of Social Work from UNC Chapel Hill, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Outdoor Education with a concentration in Therapeutic Use of Adventure.
I've received training in psychoanalysis through the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas (PCC). I hold memberships in the PCC, the American Academy of Psychotherapists (AAP), the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), and the Association of Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS).
