I enjoy working with those that are "misunderstood". This is generally those with ADHD and Autism or even teens who are in the LGBTQ+ community or going through a major life change (i.e turning 18, going to college). It could even be compounded by trauma. My main goal through therapy is to work towards exploring how life experiences may have contributed to your perception of self. The ultimate goal for my clients is acceptance. Whether that's accepting themselves, their past, or what they can/cannot control.
I utilize Adlerian Play Therapy. Children can't tell us how they feel, but can act it out through play. I help children gain insight into their world through play. I specialize in trauma work specifically sexual abuse as well. I have 3 years of experience working in an inpatient facility working with behavioral issues and honing my trauma informed skills.
Sometimes we all get stuck and need help to figure out how to make positive changes. I strive to make therapy as fun as possible through using creative interventions, humor and outside of the box thinking. My office is a judgement free zone to make yourself feel as comfortable as possible.
