My therapy style focuses on empowerment. Often our societal norms attempt to categorize individuals in ways which we often don’t fit exactly. Many clients come to therapy feeling as if parts of their lives are a bit “out of control”. Empowerment and mutually agreed upon methods help give a person back that sense of control. My clients learn to replace disappointment and inadequacy with a deeper understanding of their thoughts and feelings. The process develops skills to promote confidence and the ability to overcome situations that once were baffling.
My clients receive empathy, validation, and practical interventions on their way to discovering strengths that promote a healthy and empowered self. Such experiences may be part of our lives, but they do not hold the final say in who we are or what we want to be. Our value is intrinsic, and we are worth the investment.
