I have seen great transformation in women and girls with self-esteem issues. This may manifest in codendency, post-traumatic stress, eating disorders, grief, anxiety and depression. I combine Self-Psychology, humor and metaphor, and my love for metaphysics to create new paths for healing and it works. I have clients who have struggled for decades with debilitating thoughts and behaviors who are now free of negative voices and habits that were not serving them. I am also skilled at empowering couples and/or families that are in high conflict and feeling hopeless.
In California, I had a great reputation for my work with adolescents. I think this is because of the genuine love I have for teens. This includes working with the family and distinguishing what is a family issue and what is the child's issue. I like this dynamic work.
I am not a sit back and analyze type of psychotherapist. I am much more hands on, even directive at times. I believe in providing tools and the occasional answers, though I do believe true transformation comes when a client finds their own answers and can integrate them their selves.
