I will never rush or pressure a client to move faster than they are able, and I believe that therapy can be a joyful process. These clients seek to understand their authentic selves, even when their truth may not feel "pretty" or "convenient".
While I specialize in Narrative Therapy to understand the meaning my clients have extracted from events throughout their lives, and empower them to reframe this to something positive, I also incorporate many Cognitive-Behavioral interventions to explore how the "background noise" of my clients' minds contribute to their understanding of their sense of self.
