Hi! I am Damitra Smith, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor based in Katy, Texas, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with children/adolescents and adults, and I specialize in depression, anxiety, ADHD, codependency, and substance abuse/addiction. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and Acceptance Therapy to aid my clients in achieving their goals. My approach to therapy varies depending on my client's needs. I use Client-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and take a Holistic approach to my client's lives.
I believe that addressing every area of my client's lives can help them move forward and meet their therapeutic goals. My communication style is warm, direct, and personable. My clients view therapy as their safe space, and I create an atmosphere where my clients feel comfortable. My sessions are a no judgment zone.
My approach to goal setting is to collaborate with my clients to decide what goals they want to complete while in therapy. I take time to build a rapport with my clients that allows for a comfortable environment to set goals and track our progress together.
