Forrest Gump said, “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.” Sure, Forrest, but it’s still ALL chocolate, which is almost always at least a little bit good. However, we know that sometimes life throws things at us that do not resemble chocolates in the least, aside from color. They’re not sweet, they’re bitter…simply not palatable. I get it, sometimes life is flat out difficult, and we find ourselves trying to navigate its waters shrouded in a proverbial “fog.” It's my desire to travel alongside of others on their journey while helping them find peace in the present and hope for the future.
My core approach to all therapy is person-centered which prioritizes developing a therapeutic alliance through the giving of unconditional positive regard while providing a safe environment that is conducive for self-exploration. I work with trauma victims, families, parents of adoptive/foster children, grief, anxiety, depression, etc.
I believe that the broken down, torn apart, destroyed, or lost things in our lives are not for nothing; they can be reprocessed, redirected, redesigned, rebuilt, recovered, restored, and Repurposed. Sometimes we just need a little help to find meaning in life’s ruble and that’s what I am here for. I offer Christian and non-religious counseling.
