I enjoy working with patients working through significant life events and/or chronic struggles with mood regulation and personality disorders. I work a lot with patients who recently lost loved ones or those who are working through chronic anxiety related to life transitions such as graduating school, moving homes, job changes, and recent relationship changes. Change is an intrinsic part of life. It is inevitable, often painful even when it is a change that we desire to make. At other times it is thrust upon us. Much of my focus is about navigating change and understanding the forces that have brought us to the point of change or the need to change. Symptoms of depression and anxiety or addiction, for example, are often signs to tell us that something needs to change in our lives. My practice is science based, non-judgemental, collaborative, and my style quickly puts my clients at ease.

I believe that all individuals struggling with addiction have the ability to change as it is the desire within themselves that leads them to this change. The therapist is simply the vehicle that helps to create a safe environment for this journey to begin, and fosters this change and personal growth. The therapist provides tools and helps the client explore their unhealthy behaviors as well as helping them develop their own recoverty plan.
