Whatever challenges life has brought you, it helps to have the support of a therapist and the power of music to help you through it. Music is a friend and a transformative tool capable of clearing blocks, bringing insight, and healing wounds. No music experience is necessary to engage in music therapy, but it helps if you're a music lover. I offer a holistic and humanistic approach; I believe the problems you are facing should be understood in the context of your full being, and that working from a foundation of full acceptance is essential.

Within my practice, we work to address anything that you feel is preventing you from living as your most authentic and self-compassionate Self. If you are carrying daily life stress, the loss of a loved one, challenges with adapting to a new life transition, deep and debilitating sadness, the burden of a traumatic experience, or even struggling to make sense of what you are feeling, I'm here to honor your reality - whatever that may be - so you can begin your healing process. With compassion and curiosity, my role is to help you nurture and strengthen that which encourages you to feel heard, liberated, and fulfilled.

My Center for Progressive Treatment is best for substance-involved individuals and their loved ones who have not reached their goals with traditional treatment, especially those who are not inclined toward 12-step (AA or NA) approaches. We believe that you, the client, 1) know what treatment will work for you (you pick from a wide array of scientifically-proven treatments vs. the traditional idea that others should decide for you); 2) already have the power to change (vs. it comes from admitting powerlessness); and 3) are your own best source of motivation (vs. it comes from external pressure or a higher power).

A person's trajectory in life can be offset by stress, strain and compromises. Therapy can re-orient a person to their core needs and strivings, allowing them to become more effective and engaged at work, home, and in relationships. Imagining positive change for yourself is an important step and yet taking that step can be challenging. "The best time to plant a tree was yesterday; The second best time is now." I look forward to hearing about what's happening in your life now.

I specialize in helping people overcome PTSD, phobias, complicated grief, and triggers from childhood or the recent past. When a person has experienced a trauma, the event and emotions often get stuck on repeat in the brain, and a person can experience interrupted sleep, bad dreams, and constant replaying of the images of the event. Phobias are often linked to a past memory, conscious or unconscious, and can be cured when that initial memory is healed. Complicated grief can keep a person stuck in one aspect of grief, without allowing full healing and acceptance to come. Triggers happen in the present because of unresolved wounds
