I currently only have daytime availability. Change can be difficult and finding your way to therapy can be both scary and overwhelming. Together we can work to create change through a supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship. Often times, we maintain cycles of behavior and relationships that create a feeling of imbalance, affecting our ability to face the difficulties that are thrown our way. We will work to increase insight into your thoughts and behaviors and find a path toward a positive future by utilizing strengths and supports that you already possess.

The therapeutic relationship we will establish has to be based on trust and transparency.
Life comes at us in waves of change. Some are predictable and gentle, while others seem to come out of nowhere and knock us completely off balance. Fears may arise about our future, or past trauma might bubble to the surface of our awareness. Confusion, anxiety and depression are normal responses to shifting insights, losses and transitions in life. Relationships can become challenging to navigate, especially when the waves keep coming at us. I will join you right where you are at, to help you catch your breath and establish stable footing so you can forge a path toward wholeness and wellness.

I treat a wide array of presenting problems, including depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, relationship conflicts, and substance use.
Unresolved emotional conflicts lie at the core of human suffering. For this reason, I take an emotion-focused approach to therapy that helps clients process and work through their underlying feelings, freeing them from symptomatic disturbances. This is done within an atmosphere of empathic respect for the individual.

This is why the relationship between you and I is most important in our work.
Sometimes, life deals us an awful hand with so many wounds and hurts that we have no idea how we'll get through. We feel sad, anxious, overwhelmed, angry, depressed and don't know how to move forward with that emotion. We find ourselves stuck in the same patterns and don't know how to change them. Frequently, our relationships struggle as a result. I believe in becoming whole and healing from these wounds and hurts. I believe each person has innate characteristics that make this healing possible. In therapy, our goal is to remove these constraints that prevent you from accessing your core Self and create a life that feels lighter.

We all struggle from time to time with areas of our lives that can seem overwhelming or out of control. A collaborative relationship between a caring therapist and client can ease and minimize the stresses that arise from these times. I work with clients to discover and understand the inner parts of ourselves that need attention and healing during these times.Helping clients connect with their own sense of self and build on that strength is both rewarding and enlightening as we travel the journey of healing and rebuilding together. My client centered therapy is geared towards the respect, comfort and safety of the individual.

I have identified healthy communication, parenting, and relationship issues as the 3 main reasons clients seek treatment.
You have the right to lead a happy, productive life. Do you feel the people in your life are not listening to you? Is your family dysfunctional? Are you facing a transition and would like constuctive feedback? Do you need to resolve emotional or behavioral issues you know are not healthy for you? We all face these dilemmas throughout our lives. As a mutifaceted therapist, I can help you make decisions and changes you are comfortable with. It can be uncomfortable for many people to start a theraputic relationship. I am a therapist you will feel at ease with.

Life presents each of us with challenges that sometimes seem overwhelming. Relationship conflicts, family and work stress, parental concerns, separation and divorce, health worries, the grief of loss, spiritual crises--all these hardships can bring anxiety, depression, anger and sadness in their wake. One can feel out of control using old coping mechanisms and strategies that don't work anymore. It's then that you will need the kind of support and guidance I offer to help strengthen your untapped natural ability to mindfully navigate through these and many other life stresses.

We all have unique stories: some are buried deep, some are open wounds, some we band aid and some we would rather forgot. Being able to have support and a safe place to look into these stories and then change the narrative to encompass the whole story requires a readiness to grow and heal from the inside out so that your new stories empower you and impact all of your relationships, including the relationship with yourself. Are you ready to heal and move into a more authentic and connected self?

Taking the first step to reach out to a therapist is no easy task and we want to help you recognize that you're doing something big by just looking at this profile to consider if we might be a good fit. Some areas that we are especially passionate about are supporting those with loved ones with addictions, parents of children with special needs and those going through life transitions such as relationship changes, career changes and blended families.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
