Hello! My name is Crystal Villegas (she/her/hers). I began my career in Phoenix, Arizona soon after graduating and took a huge leap of faith in 2020 and moved to the amazing city of Chicago where I have continued my career as a bilingual Spanish-speaking counselor. I have a background in social work, where I have worked primarily in child protective services, foster care, and adoptions. I also received my Crisis Intervention and Victimology Certifications in 2013, which allowed me the opportunity to work alongside law enforcement in the victim services department in Tucson, Arizona.
As a counselor, I have experiencing working in outpatient settings, community mental health, juvenile detention centers, and school settings. I also have extensive experience working with the Latinx communities both in Illinois and Arizona and speak Spanish fluently and intimately understand Latinx cultural issues.
I practice psychotherapy because I believe that mental health plays a significant role in our daily lives and relationships. I have a strong desire for helping people become the best version of themselves; and, I believe psychotherapy can be both a healing and empowering experience.
