It takes a lot of courage to ask for help and taking the initial step of seeking therapy can be intimating and uncomfortable. I believe it is vital to quickly establish a trusting relationship built on mutual respect for meaningful therapy to take place. Through the practice of evidenced based therapies, I believe that helping clients build on their strengths while incorporating new coping strategies is the key to successful treatment outcomes. I strive to help clients clarify their life values in order to provide a firm foundation for action.
I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. I specialize in evidenced-based practices of DBT, CBT, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy. I also utilize the Gottman Method for couples therapy. I believe it is vital for clients to have coping tools to help manage burdensome thoughts and emotions that get in the way of one's sense of wellbeing.
I have worked in the field of mental health in various treatment settings for over 25 years. During this time, it never ceases to amaze me how the clients I have been fortunate enough to work with, have consistently met life's obstacles with a sense of courage, grace, humor, and hard work.
