I have training and experience in the US and in India and in helping individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds with relationship and parenting issues, substance abuse, identity, depression and severe mental illness.
As a therapist I specialize in Substance Use, Anxiety, Identity development and Couple’s Therapy. Trauma from your past creates messages that can have an impact on how you view yourself. Some of those messages create habits and coping mechanisms that can have negative consequences, consequences that inhibit you from knowing the goodness that lies deep within you. Knowing your inherent goodness gives you the framework and foundation to tackle the tougher issues and is an indispensable starting point for your healing journey.

Anxiety, depression, stress, life changes, relationship struggles, and work dissatisfaction are just some of the factors that might be leading you to seek help.
There is no health without mental health. I really like this slogan which was recently used to promote National Mental Health Awareness Month. It reminds us that maintaining mental health is not optional, but essential to our capacity to live fully and joyfully. I would also note that psychotherapy is not only helpful for when we are struggling, but it also can help us when things are going well! Therapy can provide a safe and consistent space for us to continue to grow in self-awareness, empathy and wisdom. I have served as a Master's level licensed psychologist since 2005.

I chose this profession from a profound desire to help and a strong belief that we all deserve help and healing. Deciding to seek help is the first brave step towards wellness. Taking positive strides and making healthy changes is what I am here to help with. Developing a warm, trusting, and calm environment is what I strive to provide each and every session. The most important aspect of therapy is developing a healthy therapeutic relationship where you feel safe to share your feelings, thoughts and experiences.

I enjoy working with individuals and couples who are ready for change and come to therapy for guidance, support, and coping strategies to help them on their way. I especially love to work with people who want to understand the mind-body connection and are open to integrative methods of healing. The therapeutic relationship can be magical! In the safety of this relationship, you can start to tap into your own inner wisdom and knowledge. Witnessing and learning from this transformation is my favorite part of being a therapist.

I am here to support your most loving, vivid, relational and authentic self; and to help bring care to the ways and places your wholeness is or becomes blocked. I also specialize in supporting couples to drop beneath old narratives and into real feelings, where connection and meaningful change can occur. People reach out to me to support a variety of needs and longings, which I deeply appreciate. I notice that the clients who find our time particularly valuable are those who are seeking deeper connections with themselves, others and the world. Our work together steps beyond diagnosis, into vast possibility.

I've worked with children, young adults, and geriatric populations, helping navigate challenges such as anxiety, loss/grief, parenting, and relationship issues.
Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here :) I believe that the most effective therapeutic work happens within a trusting relationship. To me, therapy is a deeply personal journey, where together we can explore the unique experiences that shape your behaviors and relationships. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen and empowered to navigate complex emotions and challenges such as feeling 'stuck.' I blend evidence-based interventions to fit your needs while cultivating a judgment free safe space where you can explore your feelings, reflect on your past, and find hope for the future. Together, we can work toward growth and healing.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
