Over a decade working with individuals, couples and families, has shaped my emphasis to focus on relationship enhancement and the role of unresolved pain on decision making, relationship conflicts and overall behavior.
DIVORCE or conflict can be a phase of what feels like unmanageable stress. Finding the right therapist can be very hard. Coming from Ireland seems to offer an alternative cultural style many clients respond very well to. Realistic goals create action which improves our relationships and overall quality of life. In a supportive, trusting and sometimes fun arena, we can work collaboratively to empower you to thrive rather than merely survive. You can build a happier, more successful version of yourself. Accompanying my clients on this journey is the very thing that ignites my passion for this work. I look forward to working with you.

Whether I'm working with adolescents, teens, adults, couples, or families, I approach each therapeutic encounter with empathy, compassion, and a deep commitment to help anyone seeking a supportive hand.
Hi there! I’m Michaela Webb, and I’ll be the first to tell you that it’s okay not to be okay—life, at any age or stage, can be exhausting (psst… even when you have people and things that you love, and that love you). As a passionate graduate student therapist, I’m here to help you navigate those tough moments and reshape the narrative around your mental health. I will say that in growing up in a Black and faith-based community, I’ve seen firsthand the stigma that often surrounds mental health. That’s why I believe that understanding the cultural differences that shape your experiences is crucial for effective therapy.

My theory of focus is primarily Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), through my primary lens, EFT is a structural approach to couples work and negative communication patterns.
I believe individuals come to therapy with concerns that have become problematic to their lives. However we were raised, along the way, we picked up traits that grew along with us, and manifested themselves in our everyday living; traits, such as abandonment, mistrust, defectiveness, vulnerable to harm/illness, entitlement, unrelenting standards/hypercritical, and dependence. I believe these traits hide in plain sight. Individuals will come to therapy looking to relieve themselves of moments, or situations, only to find these traits, disguised as their concerns. It is up to our work together to find a way to overcome these traits.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
