I have been trained using a systemic and culturally-attuned lens to help clients work on issues like anxiety, relationship conflict, depression, low self-esteem, sexuality, and trauma.
You may be struggling to find a deep connection with yourself and others and wondering why you act and think the way you do. I specialize in working with clients who are interested in engaging in self-reflection as a means to better understand themselves. I understand that clients are looking for some resolve from their distress, no matter how big or small the distress feels. I like to help clients find useful and accessible strategies to help move towards their treatment goals.

A deep therapy relationship builds over time, however to ensure that I am the right counselor for you to begin with, I offer a free phone consultation.
I believe that everyone has within them the capacity for growth and profound strength. However, sometimes we find ourselves stuck in problematic patterns without the insight or support we need to free ourselves. One of the greatest honors of my lifetime is the ongoing opportunity I have to walk alongside my clients as they both deepen their understanding of themselves and rewrite their stories to ones of strength, self-compassion and empowerment.

I believe in the value of the therapeutic relationship, and I'm continually working on bettering myself in order to help and support others.
My treatment focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. This is achieved by providing a neutral, safe space, listening to their stories, and customizing a treatment plan. I promise my clients I will be there every step of their journey. The goal is to help them grow from their struggles, heal from their pain, and move forward in their lives after looking inward, unpacking emotions and experiences, and ultimately seeing and understanding this time of their lives through a clearer lens.

When working with both couples and individuals I draw from the wisdom of EFT, Attachment theory, mindfulness, acceptance and tolerance, somatic experiencing, guided imagery, and the mind-body connection of neuroscience.
Are you satisfied with the quality of your relationships? Most people agree that our life is made infinitely better by close connections and becomes intensely challenging when our relationships are problematic, painful, and unfulfilling. Are you stressed, burdened, frustrated, outraged, or lonely within your relationship with others? Or is the relationship you have with yourself overwhelmed with internal conflict? I can help. My private practice empowers individuals and couples to significantly improve their intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships. I foster client authenticity, self-love and self-esteem within individuals and guide couples through conversations that create close connections and secure bonds.

As a 5th-generation Montanan, I have experienced the value of deep roots and being connected to a place, a people, and a story. I believe relationships are at the heart of every story, and am passionate about helping individuals, families, and children reconnect with others and reconnect with themselves to make sense of their past, present, and future. I have training in individual therapy for adults and minors, couples therapy, and family systems. Whether working with adults, children, or families, I believe relationships are the mechanism for healing and that my relationship with my clients is a starting point for change.

The therapeutic relationship is the foundation of any effective counseling process and through our work together, we will create new patterns of relationship both to yourself and with others where you feel more free, happy and empowered.
Worry, sadness, relationship clashes, avoidance and body pain can be invitations to step back and look inward. What’s going on for you? I believe your genuine answer opens the door to a different experience. This is not an intellectual exercise. It can be uncomfortable. But it can also feel like a relief, as things around you start to shift. If you want something different coming towards you in your life or in your relationship, I am here to support you as you reshape your life and relationships with the people around you. I believe growth wants to happen and counseling can be a great way to set the stage for it to occur.

My mentor said to me: “we get there together.” This means that we need one another to go the distance. Grief, anxiety, trauma, depression, relational conflicts or any number of other challenges can lead to feeling disconnected, distressed, or ashamed. I aim to provide an empathetic presence to provide support, healthy reflection, and hope as we find healthy change to pursue. Counseling can be proactive too (before our crisis). If you are interested in understanding yourself better, developing healthy coping skills, exploring your beliefs, or strengthening your relational skills I would love to partner with you.

If you are in need of support for your mental and/or relationship health, please send me an email to inquire about scheduling a free consultation to determine if my practice is a good fit for your counseling needs.
I once heard it said that "Mental health problems need to be viewed as proof of our humanity, not an exception to it." Such problems in today's world often present themselves as anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, isolation, stagnation, trauma, relationship strain, etc. and can leave people feeling like they are merely existing rather than living. Does this sound familiar to you? If it does, then a counselor like myself may be able to help you through it.

Life can feel overwhelming at times, and opening up to a stranger about your struggles can be intimidating—it requires true vulnerability. Building a connection through safety, security, and trust is essential for creating a strong therapeutic relationship that fosters personal growth. My approach to therapy is eclectic, drawing from a range of techniques because, as cliché as it may sound, one size does not fit all. It’s important to tailor the process to your unique experiences and needs. I look forward to working with you and creating a personalized path toward your growth.

We will create opportunities for emotional resolution, within yourself, and/or with your partner.
I enjoy working with adolescents, couples, and adults. I believe everyone has beauty and wonder within themselves. Sometimes these aspects of a person are buried by the complexities of life; trauma, relationship ruptures, and experiences of suffering, can make it difficult to bring love for yourself and others forward.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
