It is OK to not feel OK! In fact, it makes absolute sense that you may be experiencing feelings of anxiety, depression, anger, irritability, and discontent as you try your best to navigate a world that can be chaotic to say the least! In my experience, sometimes just talking through these difficulties with a therapist can help to recalibrate our hard wiring as we work to find what is most effective for us to move forward. I applaud you in taking an enormous step in trusting the therapeutic process by saying "YES" to yourself. I am here as a means to help guide and navigate the journey in reaching your therapeutic goals.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, couples, or family therapy.
For me, psychotherapy must address the needs of the person. Sometimes this can mean exploring how you got to the point you are at, and how you want to change; and sometimes you may want specific tools to address a very specific issue. Finding the right therapist is perhaps one of the most important choices you will make and also one of the most difficult. Although a therapist may have an armory of techniques to use, what I have found to be at the heart of any type of psychotherapy is whether the relationship works between you and your therapist.

I work with all adults over 21 , couples, and adults over 65.
Accepting New Clients / For the past fifteen years it has been my privilege and honor to have worked with numerous clients in assisting them on their journey toward self-healing. I have worked diligently to help each of them better understand whatever issues have impacted the quality of their life and have taught them coping skills using primarily cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as other helpful modalities such as Mindfulness and Psychodynamic Therapy. I have observed that these modalities have aided my clients in setting goals and improved their ability to function more effectively in life. I welcome you.

Anxiety, depression, chronic pain and illness, grief, losses ( spouses, children, parents, pets), substance struggles, aging, relationship struggles, adult ADHD, OCD, traumas, LGBT issues, existential issues, spiritual growth.
There is no real ‘cure’ for being a human being. But in therapy, there can be support, exploration and development of skills that let us live a more meaningful and manageable life. Perspective of another, more objective person, can help. When you are in the movie, you can't watch it.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in individual, couples, and family therapy.
Life experiences deeply influence how you see yourself and relate to others. These experiences mold your sense of self, influence how you navigate relationships, and impact how you perceive the world around you. Over time, the narratives that were once helpful may now be feeling limiting or hurtful. In therapy, I invite a sense of curiosity and companionship as we co-create a space to explore. We will explore not only the challenges you face but also the strengths you possess. Together, we will work to understand your life experiences and the narratives that guide you, with the goal of fostering growth, healing, and transformation.

Therapy can be a great tool whether you're feeling depressed or anxious, having trouble dealing with stress or stuck in a rut. Just as each individual is unique, so is each course of therapy. I recently relocated to Longmeadow from the Boston area where I've been providing therapy since 2005. I work with individuals, children, teens, college students and families. You will find that my style is compassionate, non-judgmental and empowering.

A full range of counseling services are offered. I enjoy helping people navigate life transitions and helping people find ways to improve themselves.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
