Since earning my master’s degree in 2015, I've provided individual and couples counseling with a preference for holistic therapies.
Looking for a therapist who values holistic approaches centered on the client? I'm a dedicated counselor experienced in a blend of therapeutic interventions: person-centered, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, DBT, and EMDR. I use self-compassion, somatic experiencing, and mindfulness techniques. I work with adults on issues like religious trauma, postpartum, parenthood, depression, anxiety, and other traumas. As a sex-positive LGBTQ+ ally who supports Black Lives Matter and is HAES aligned, my aim is to guide meaningful change.

I work with individuals, couples and families regarding anxiety and depression, medical issues, life and loss, addiction, trauma, relationship distress.
Life isn't always easy. Even happy occasions can cause emotional stress and anxiety. Utilizing resources such as counseling doesn't mean you are weak or flawed. Instead, it is a sign of courage and awareness that you believe life doesn't have to be this hard and you are willing to do the work to create change. As a client-focused therapist, my primary objective is to provide a safe and trust-worthy environment where, with warmth and compassion, I will guide you through the exploration of your struggles and help you create a more fulfilling life.

Waitlist for new clients
You may be finding it difficult to find or maintain a relationship.
I've been a therapist for 35 years and still find joy in helping clients navigate through their life challenges. Some of the issues I work with are Eating Problems, Body Image, Trauma and Relationships. I want to help you make peace with food, your body and yourself. You can feel great about your body and comfortable in your own skin. Maybe you want to lose weight, stop hurting yourself with food, stop those obsessive thoughts about eating and your body, or maybe you want to learn to feel good about yourself. I won't make assumptions about you based on the size of your body. We will focus on what's important for you right now.

I specialize in relationship distress and offer couples counseling with Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
I support individuals and couples in deepening their connection to both themselves and those that matter the most during times of transition and change. When life becomes uncertain, we often experience new or returning feelings of anxiety, depression, general malaise and even grief. Relationship with technology may come up as we explore what works and what gets in the way of getting needs met. Sessions will be insightful and challenging, as steps are taken to make change.

However, no matter how caring a parent, partner, or friend is, it can be helpful to have an unbiased professional listen to your concerns.
Simply put, if you or someone you know needs help dealing with the variety of stressors that come with life, I would value the opportunity to help. We are all individuals, and the way we process our world is different for everyone. We live in a world that often reacts to dilemmas instead of being proactive. Even if you feel your issues have not become too cumbersome, I'd be privileged to discuss why you are reading about my counseling services.

I specialize in work with eating disorders, trauma, postpartum depression, and couples distress.
My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that who you are makes sense. Even when your emotions, behaviors, or relationships are extremely different than what you want them to be, I believe that our feelings carry wisdom, our behaviors serve a function, and our current situation becomes clear in the context of our whole story. With this stance of curiosity and acceptance, I can help you understand the parts of your life that are causing distress and move toward the life you want to be living. I am an ideal fit for clients who want to make a change in their behavior while understanding the way those behaviors have functioned.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
